KAGURA at Yoshino
Pear
Label design — prototype
Japanese Western pear “La France” — rich sweet perfume and melting fruit in the liqueur. Enjoy the Western-pear character that Japanese nashi does not give.
Story
Our Western-pear liqueur began with La France from Yamagata. Autumn fruit that arrives after ripening brought the perfume and sweetness that started this bottle.
Today we use Japanese La France. Supply shifts with the season across domestic growers, so we do not lock the label to a single origin name. Western pears include Le Lectier, Bartlett, and others — we choose La France only for its dense sweetness and aroma. Unlike the crisp bite of Japanese nashi, we aim for the melting mouthfeel of Western pear in the glass.

Craft
We wash ripened La France, peel thinly, and cut by hand just before brewing so browning stays in check. The finish keeps a soft, melting texture with sweetness, gentle acidity, and a rich perfume.
On the rocks or with soda — and tea lengtheners with Earl Grey or Orange Pekoe also work well.
Serve
On the rocks, with soda, or lengthened with tea (Earl Grey / Orange Pekoe). Chill the bottle well.
